# Overview

> Read your Gensiv workspace data from your own scripts, dashboards and agents with the Gensiv REST API.

The Gensiv API returns your AI visibility data as JSON over HTTPS: brands, prompts, AI answers, visibility against competitors, citations, Reddit threads, content gaps and more. The base URL is `https://app.gensiv.com/api/v1`.

Every key can read. Keys created with **Allow changes** can also add, edit and delete prompts, competitors, topics, tags, personas and actions, and start articles. The API is available on Starter and up.

## Quick start

1. Create a key in **Settings > API keys**. See [Authentication](/docs/api/authentication).
2. List your brands:

```bash
curl https://app.gensiv.com/api/v1/brands \
  -H "x-api-key: $GENSIV_API_KEY"
```

3. Pass a brand `id` from the response to any other endpoint, for example [List responses](/docs/api/responses/list-responses): `GET /brands/{brandId}/responses`.

Every endpoint page has a **Try it** panel. Paste your key there to send a live request and see the real response.

For AI assistants, the [MCP server](/docs/mcp) returns the same data as tools.
