What is Query fan-out?
Query fan-out is when an AI system decomposes a single user question into several underlying searches, retrieves results for each, and synthesises one answer from the combined set.
Fan-out means one visible question can be influenced by many hidden ones, so a brand can be excluded from an answer by losing a sub-query it never appeared to be competing for.
